Bulgaria's Snap Parliamentary Election Results Announced
According to Главком: Bulgaria's Central Election Commission has released the official results from the snap parliamentary elections held on April 19, 2026. The 'Progressive Bulgaria' coalition, led by former President Rumen Radev, has won an absolute majority of seats, signaling strong voter support for stability during a period of political transition. This outcome follows a prolonged phase of political fragmentation in the country.
With 100% of the vote protocols processed, 'Progressive Bulgaria' secured 1,444,924 votes, representing 44.594% of all valid ballots. According to the results, the GERB party of former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov received 433,755 votes (13.387%). The 'We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria' (PP-DB) coalition garnered 408,845 votes (12.618%), a difference of 24,910 votes behind GERB. The 'Movement for Rights and Freedoms' (DPS) obtained 230,693 votes (7.120%), while Kostadin Kostadinov's 'Revival' party received 137,940 votes (4.257%).
Parliamentary Seat Allocation
The election results translate into 130 parliamentary seats for 'Progressive Bulgaria'. GERB will hold 39 mandates, 'We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria' will have 37, the 'Movement for Rights and Freedoms' will take 21, and 'Revival' will secure 13. Rumen Radev stated that the election represented
“a victory over apathy and a mandate for change.”
