Boris Johnson calls for the transfer of $300 billion of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine
According to glavcom.ua: Boris Johnson has urged the West to intensify sanctions against Russia. The former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom called for tough sanctions and the transmission of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. This was reported by the National Association of Defense Industries of Ukraine (NAUDI).
In London, with the support of NAUDI, the 'Summit of Freedom' continues – an event dedicated to strengthening democratic alliances in security, defense, and technology. During his speech, Boris Johnson condemned Russian attacks on civilians and emphasized that strategically Russia has already lost the war.
«The people of Ukraine will not succumb to terror, Ukrainians will never surrender, and Putin will never subdue Ukraine», – said Johnson.
Johnson argues that Putin continues the war not out of hope for victory, but for his own political survival. The former Prime Minister calls on allies not to seek compromises with the Kremlin.
«The only language he understands is strength. You will not change his calculations with red carpets or concessions. And it is impossible to negotiate territory with a crocodile that is squeezing your neck with its claws», – emphasized Boris Johnson.
Ending the war through forceful measures
The politician is confident that the war can only be stopped through strength and decisive action from the West. Johnson emphasizes the need to expand secondary sanctions and calls for unfreezing about $300 billion of Russian assets and transferring them to Ukraine as reparations: «This is completely legal. If Ukrainians use these funds to create or purchase weapons – all the better».
