The boarding occurred on the night of June 14, 2026, as the vessel was still moving. Units from the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines carried out the operation, supported by agents from the National Crime Agency (NCA). UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer officially confirmed that Russian ship had been boarded.
