The council's primary mission is to safeguard the rights of war veterans, their families, relatives of fallen soldiers, prisoners of war, and individuals reported missing. This initiative aims to improve coordination among state agencies in these areas.

The newly formed Coordination Council includes representatives from the following bodies:
- Ministry of Defense
- Ministry of Internal Affairs
- Ministry of Veterans Affairs
- Security Service of Ukraine
- Foreign Intelligence Service
- Office of the President
- Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights
- Commissioner for Missing Persons
- Military Ombudsman
- National Security and Defense Council
This move follows the dissolution of several other advisory bodies that previously operated in this field.
Veterans must become moral authorities in Ukrainian society, and the state must create all conditions for their self-realization.
Kyrylo Budanov
Budanov made this statement during the 3rd Conference on Veteran Reintegration, which focused on supporting and integrating service members back into civilian life. The formation of the Coordination Council represents a significant step toward improving conditions for veterans in Ukraine.
The council's creation highlights the Ukrainian government's growing focus on veteran issues, as many former service members face challenges adjusting to civilian life. By enhancing collaboration between different state institutions, the initiative could lead to more effective support systems for veterans and their families-a critical need given the ongoing conflict and its societal impact. This development also signals a broader effort to raise public awareness about veterans' rights and requirements.
In a related development, the recent dissolution of four advisory bodies by President Zelenskyy underscores the government's commitment to streamline veteran support mechanisms. This restructuring aims to enhance the effectiveness of the newly formed Coordination Council, ensuring that veterans receive the comprehensive assistance they need during their transition to civilian life.
