High-Level Talks Between Ukraine and the Czech Republic
According to МВС: Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine, Luboš Veselý. Their discussions centered on key areas of bilateral cooperation. Notably, the Czech Republic has recently become a member of the Civil Protection Shelter Coalition for Ukraine, underscoring its commitment to enhancing the safety of Ukrainian communities.
Joint Projects and Initiatives Underway
As a direct outcome of the meeting, preparations have already begun for the first collaborative project: constructing a shelter in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This initiative represents a significant step toward bolstering security for communities that face daily threats from Russian attacks. Ihor Klymenko highlighted that special attention was also given to airspace security and countering the illegal use of drones.
'Ukraine already possesses unique practical experience in this field, and we are ready to strengthen cooperation with partners to address emerging security challenges,' Minister Ihor Klymenko emphasized.
A key achievement from the talks was the Czech Republic’s commitment to launching summer recreation and health restoration programs for the children of Ukraine’s defenders. This initiative covers children of fallen Heroes, those taken as prisoners of war, and those whose parents are currently serving in combat roles within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.
'I am grateful to the Czech Republic for its support of Ukraine,' said Ihor Klymenko, stressing the value of a partnership that translates into concrete actions.
This meeting highlights the critical role of international security cooperation, especially amid ongoing military aggression. The Czech Republic’s participation in the Shelter Coalition and the implementation of joint projects are expected to significantly improve civilian protection levels in Ukraine. Furthermore, the programs for defenders’ children demonstrate solidarity from international partners with the Ukrainian people and provide support to those most affected by the war.
