Czech Republic continues initiative for Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Czech Republic will continue the initiative for Ukraine, acting as a coordinator, but will not invest its own funds. Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis confirmed this information during the 'coalition of the willing' meeting that took place on January 6 in Paris. According to Babis, the decision to continue the project was made in cooperation with coalition partners.

The Czech Republic plans to support the initiative, but without financial contributions from Czech citizens.

“The project will continue, and the Czech Republic will act as a coordinator. No money from Czech citizens will be invested in this initiative,” said Babis.

He also pointed out the importance of security guarantees, which, according to him, will largely rest on the United States, which is a prerequisite for achieving lasting peace.

International support for Ukraine

Recall that in 2025, Ukraine received 1.8 million ammunition, indicating the activity of international support in this direction. The Czech Republic, by continuing its role as a coordinator, is actively involved in shaping an international coalition to support Ukraine.

The Czech decision to continue the initiative without financial contributions may indicate the country's cautious approach to international commitments, focusing on coordinating efforts instead of direct funding. It also emphasizes the dependence of international support for Ukraine on security assurances, which is a key factor for stability in the region. In the context of activating the international coalition, such a position of the Czech Republic may become an important element in formulating a strategy to support Ukraine amid ongoing conflicts.
