Due to a new mark in 'Reserve+' it has become impossible to reserve a person
In the app 'Reserve+', some Ukrainians have a new mark indicating their belonging to the operational reserve, which means they have lost the ability to make reservations. This has led to a surge in inquiries to lawyers and questions on social media. This is reported by TSN citing lawyer Tetiana Potapova.
Lawyer Tetiana Potapova notes that reservist bookings are not provided for in current legislation. According to her, this mark has been the reason for a wave of refusals in recent days.
Reserve+ operational reserve: what the new mark means
Lawyer Marina Bekalo explains that citizens who:
- have military service experience or participated in combat actions
- have undergone basic training or exercises
- have a military specialty.
Men aged 45 to 60 years can also be included in the reserve who may be involved in territorial defense.
This mark indicates that a person has reservist status and is on the list of those who can be mobilized first.
Reservist bookings: why this is impossible
Legislation provides for bookings only for military servicemen, but not for reservists. Therefore:
- reservists cannot obtain bookings
- such individuals are accounted for quick staffing of the Armed Forces
- they can be called up first if needed.
Lawyers explain that the operational reserve is created for prompt response to threats and reinforcement of combat units.
If incorrect data is displayed in the app, it can be changed. To do this, you need to contact the territorial recruitment center or use the functionality of 'Reserve+'.
The military reserve is a component of Ukraine's mobilization system. It includes citizens who are fit for service and can be involved if necessary for the defense of the state.
