Russian shelling destroyed dozens of windows at the Cherkasy 'Manezh': all-Ukrainian competitions canceled

According to Спортивний комітет: As a result of the shelling of the city of Cherkasy, the regional sports complex 'Manezh', which is the only specialized athletics base in the region, was severely damaged. Dozens of windows and interior premises of the building were damaged due to the explosion.

According to reports, 14 panoramic windows were shattered on one side and 32 large windows on the other. Lockers and other interior spaces were also damaged. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.

Representatives of the complex and the regional administration emphasize that sports life continues despite these destructions.

Due to the danger and damages, the all-Ukrainian athletics competitions scheduled for December 19-20 were canceled. However, the training process in the sports complex is resuming, and competitions will take place within the limits and possibilities. Athletes continue to train actively despite the hardships.

After the shelling from Russian positions, the sports complex in Cherkasy sustained serious damage, but athletes continue to train and prepare for upcoming competitions, demonstrating resilience and will to win. Even after such trials, sports life continues, showing the refusal to allow obstacles in the way of the country's sports development.
