According to glavcom.ua: The UOC-MP has lost another court report

The Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC-MP has lost another court report, trying to stop the decision of Ukrainian authorities.

In June of this year, the UOC-MP filed four applications with the Kyiv District Administrative Court, but the court refused to satisfy their requests.

On June 25, the court reviewed two applications from clerics for securing the claim before filing the lawsuit. Their demands are almost identical: to suspend the action of the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution of May 9, 2025 № 543... and to prohibit the government from making changes to this document.

The UOC-MP also attempted to prohibit conducting research on the affiliation of religious organizations and to prevent the publication of the results of that research, but the court did not satisfy these demands.

It should be noted that a religious studies examination in 2023 established that the UOC is still subordinate to the Russian Orthodox Church and is not an independent Church, which has led to the lawsuits that the UOC-MP has lost.

The UOC-MP is constantly trying to resolve the situation through the courts, but without success when it comes to contentious issues of affiliation and independence from the Russian Orthodox Church.
