According to glavcom.ua: Since the beginning of 2025, dozens of underground shocks have already been recorded; however, leading scientist of the S.I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics of the NAS of Ukraine, Dmytro Hryn, claims that missile explosions cannot cause earthquakes in Ukraine. He explained that geological objects have an immense mass that cannot be shifted even by systematic explosions.

We do not see any direct connection between explosions and earthquakes.

The seismologist noted that during the full-scale war, a sharp surge in earthquakes has not been recorded. Moreover, there is no significant connection between earthquakes and climate in Ukraine and Europe. However, in Antarctica, the melting of glaciers leads to new earthquakes due to the release of pressure on the Earth's surface.

Such phenomena are observed not only in Antarctica but also in Greenland and Scandinavian countries. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Dmytro Hryn previously explained why earthquakes in central Ukraine are becoming more frequent.

The Ukrainian seismologist stated that missile explosions cannot cause earthquakes in Ukraine. He also pointed out that there is some connection between glacier melting and the occurrence of new earthquakes, especially in Antarctica. Furthermore, the geological structures are too large to be shifted by missile explosions.
