The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets showed the first emotions of Ukrainian defenders after their return from Russian captivity. The corresponding video was published on Telegram, informs the site «Glavcom».

The video shows defenders kissing their native land upon returning to Ukraine.

Prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia

We remind you that on July 4, Ukraine returned defenders and civilians from Russian captivity. Most of them had been in Russian captivity since 2022.

Wounded and seriously ill defenders were able to be returned from Russian captivity, as well as those under 25 years old. Home returned servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including representatives of the Naval Forces, Ground Forces, Territorial Defense, Airborne Assault Forces, Special Operations Forces, as well as the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Service, and the State Special Transport Service.

It should be noted that on June 26, there was also a prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia, during which many sick servicemen and civilians were able to reconnect with their families. Among those freed were warriors from various military units and subdivisions who laid down their lives on the front line for the independence and security of Ukraine.
