The price of bread in Ukraine may rise to 55 hryvnias: what affects the cost
Prices for bread in Ukraine may rise, but without a sharp jump. According to the chief consultant of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, Ivan Us, prices may soon increase. Currently, a loaf that costs 50 hryvnias may rise to 55 hryvnias, but it will not be a sudden increase.
The expert explained that various factors influence the price of bread. For example, a stable exchange rate and lower prices for imported goods restrain price rises. However, an increase in fuel costs may affect the rise in production prices.
'If bread cost 50, then... up to 55, let’s say. That is, it will not be 60 or more'
Ivan Us emphasized that his forecast is moderate and does not imply a sharp increase in prices. However, any unexpected circumstances, such as missile strikes on bakeries, could lead to significant price increases. It is also worth noting that food prices in Ukraine are already approaching European levels.
Thus, in the expert's opinion, bread prices in Ukraine may rise, but this process will be gradual and controlled, without abrupt increases. It is necessary to monitor the market and economic circumstances, as they may affect the dynamics of food prices.
