Fuel Market Conditions in Ukraine

According to Главком: Ukrainian fuel station networks updated their prices as of March 28, 2026. The average cost of A-95 gasoline remained stable at 72.72 UAH per liter, while diesel fuel became more expensive in some chains, reaching an average price of 85.48 UAH per liter. According to data from the publication 'Hlavkom,' the most significant price increases were observed at OKKO, WOG, and SOCAR networks, where diesel and premium diesel rose by 1 UAH.

Other networks, such as Ukrnafta and BRSM-Nafta, are offering fuel at the most competitive prices. For instance, Ukrnafta sells A-95 gasoline for 68.99 UAH per liter, while BRSM-Nafta offers a similar price for this fuel type. Impact of Global Oil Prices

Currently, the price of oil on global markets has surpassed the $100 per barrel mark for the first time since 2022, which may influence future fuel price formation in Ukraine. In response, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has announced an investigation into the market situation to determine the reasons for the price increases and prevent potential abuses.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian government has announced measures to stabilize fuel prices. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that

"the authorities will attempt to curb the rise in gasoline prices,"

while Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko stated that 'citizens will be able to receive cashback from the state when purchasing fuel at filling stations.'

Agrarian policy expert Taras Vysotskyi commented that

"fuel costs account for approximately 10-15% of the cost structure of agricultural products. Therefore, even if its price rises, the cost of products from the agricultural sector may increase by no more than 1-2%."

Thus, the fuel market in Ukraine is under close scrutiny from both the state and consumers, who are anticipating price stability in the near future. The situation is driven not only by domestic market changes but also by rising global oil prices. The Antimonopoly Committee's inspections could impact the market by helping to reduce potential abuses. Government measures, such as the cashback program, represent an attempt to support consumers during this challenging period. It is crucial for these actions to be effective, as fuel prices directly affect the cost of goods and services throughout the country's economy.
