According to Главком: As of March 18, 2026, fuel prices in Ukraine have shifted. The average cost for a liter of A-95 gasoline is now 70.33 UAH, while diesel fuel averages 78.68 UAH per liter. Prices for A-92, A-95 gasoline, and autogas have risen by roughly 1 UAH per liter. In some retail chains, diesel has become more expensive by up to 2 UAH. Key Players in the Fuel Market
The most expensive fuel is currently offered by the following networks:
- Okko
- WOG
- Socar
The cheapest A-95 gasoline is available at the BRSM-Nafta network. These domestic price changes coincide with a significant surge in global oil markets. For the first time since 2022, the price of oil has surpassed the $100 per barrel mark. Futures for U.S. crude oil jumped by 14.7%, while the benchmark Brent crude added over 12%, reaching $104.
In response to these developments, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine will launch an investigation into the fuel market situation. As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted,
"the authorities will attempt to curb the rise in gasoline prices"
. Furthermore, the government plans to introduce a cashback program for fuel purchases. According to Taras Vysotskyi, fuel costs account for approximately 10–15% of the production expenses in the agricultural sector.
The shifts in Ukraine's fuel prices mirror broader global oil market trends. Rising energy costs can have serious repercussions for the national economy, particularly for the vital agricultural sector where fuel expenses play a significant role. The government's and the Antimonopoly Committee's actions, aimed at price control and consumer support, could substantially influence the domestic market in the near future, especially given the ongoing instability in global markets. Ukraine's economy remains sensitive to such energy price volatility as it continues its recovery and development efforts.
