Fuel Price Update in Ukraine

According to Главком: On March 22, 2026, fuel prices were adjusted at Ukrainian filling stations. The average price for A-95 gasoline remained stable at approximately 73.6 UAH per liter, while the cost of diesel fuel increased, reaching an average of about 83.8 UAH per liter. These price movements occur against a backdrop of rising fuel costs across Europe and Ukraine's complete reliance on imported refined petroleum products. The Ukrainian fuel market is particularly sensitive to global price fluctuations as it lacks domestic refining capacity for these fuels.

According to information from the publication 'Glavcom,' premium diesel at Okko stations rose by 3 UAH, while at WOG stations its price increased by 1 UAH. At UPG stations, prices for both standard and premium diesel went up by 1.50 UAH, and at Socar and BRSM stations, diesel fuel prices increased by 2 UAH. The cost of light petroleum products in Ukraine is not subject to state regulation, which underscores the significant influence of external factors on pricing.

Government Concern and the Fuel Market

Government officials have expressed concern regarding the situation in the fuel market.

"The authorities will try to curb the rise in gasoline prices," noted President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In turn, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko announced that 'citizens will be able to receive cashback from the state when purchasing fuel at filling stations.' The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine will also investigate the market situation to prevent excessive price hikes.

It is important to note that fuel costs constitute 10-15% of the cost structure for agricultural production. Should fuel prices continue to rise, the cost of products from the agricultural sector could increase by 1-2%. The price of oil has surpassed the $100 per barrel mark for the first time since 2022, representing another factor influencing the price situation in Ukraine.

The table below lists prices for different fuel types across seven filling station networks:

  • UPG: A95 – 73.90 UAH, DP – 85.90 UAH;
  • OKKO: A95 – 74.99 UAH, DP – 86.99 UAH;
  • WOG: A95 – 74.49 UAH, DP – 86.99 UAH;
  • KLO: A95 – 73.19 UAH, DP – 84.39 UAH;
  • SOCAR: A95 – 74.99 UAH, DP – 86.99 UAH;
  • UKRNAFTA: A95 – 68.99 UAH, DP – 77.99 UAH;
  • BRSM: A95 – 68.99 UAH, DP – 77.99 UAH.

The rise in fuel prices in Ukraine highlights the impact of external economic factors, particularly the increase in global oil prices. This could have serious consequences for consumers, especially in the agricultural sector where fuel expenses are a significant part of production costs. Measures taken by the state, such as cashback for buyers and market oversight by the Antimonopoly Committee, are aimed at mitigating the negative effects for the population and the economy as a whole.
