The NACP revealed a scheme with fictitious cash in officials' declarations

Officials declare non-existent assets — NACP
В НАЗК розкрили махінацію з неіснуючими грошима у деклараціях чиновників.

Declarations of public officials regarding income and expenses often contain unreliable information about assets they do not possess. The head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Viktor Pavlushchik, explained that such violations often involve cash and cryptocurrency. The motives for such actions are varied, but each case is investigated individually.

'Documents for the years 2022-2024 declared a significant amount of cash and cryptocurrency. However, not all declarations of these assets indicate violations. Nevertheless, several court verdicts have been issued based on the agency's materials,' Pavlushchik reported.

Among the examples of violations, the head of the NACP cited cases of a former deputy of the Turbiivska Village Council of the Vinnytsia region and an official of the State Energy Supervision in the Odesa region. A case also mentioned involved an official from the Regional Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Mykolaiv region, who could not confirm the existence of cryptocurrency due to the theft of wallets and keys.

This news reveals the problem of submitting unreliable information about assets in the declarations of public officials, particularly regarding cash and cryptocurrency. The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption is actively studying such cases, and it is extremely important to avoid violations in this area to enhance transparency and accountability in the activities of public officials.
