Sugar is getting cheaper, flour is getting more expensive: what is happening with prices for basic products in July

Ukrainians can observe changes in prices for basic food products in July 2025. According to the Ministry of Finance, the cost of sugar, salt, and flour may impact the family budget under conditions of economic instability.

According to the price monitoring in July 2025, Ukrainian consumers are observing certain changes in the prices of basic products compared to the previous month.

The average price for a kilogram of sugar is indicated at 33.72 hryvnias. The best offers can be found in Metro stores at 31.90 hryvnias per kilogram, in Megamarket - 37.30 hryvnias. Auchan and Novus sell sugar for 32.90 and 32.79 hryvnias, respectively. Compared to June, sugar has slightly decreased in price - the average price was 34.03 hryvnias per kilogram. The average price for salt remains stable at 37.45 hryvnias per kilogram. Megamarket sells salt for 39.90 hryvnias, while Auchan sells it for 35.00 hryvnias. Prices for sugar and salt remain unchanged compared to the previous month. As for wheat flour, the cost has increased. In July, a kilogram of 'Khutorok' flour costs 33.16 hryvnias, while a two-kilogram package costs 57.96 hryvnias. Prices have increased compared to June by 3.74 hryvnias per kilogram, or almost 13%. Information on the prices of sunflower oil and eggs has not been provided in this report. Ukrainians are reminded to carefully monitor prices for basic food products for healthy family budget planning.
