Some families can now pay less in taxes: conditions for receiving the allowance

Parents raising two or more children can take advantage of a tax social allowance that allows them to reduce their tax burden. However, not all families can benefit from this support, as reported by the Government Portal.

The allowance is only available to one of the parents provided that they are employed in their primary job. The salary must not exceed 4240 hryvnias for each child. Thus, for two children, the total income must not exceed 8480 hryvnias per month.

In 2025, this allowance allows for a reduction in taxable income by 1514 hryvnias for each child. This means that for two children, the employer does not tax the amount of 3028 hryvnias each month.

To receive the allowance, an application must be submitted to the employer along with copies of documents confirming the status of the parent or guardian, such as birth certificates of the children or a decision from the guardianship authority.

The allowance is granted from the moment of application until the end of the year when the child turns eighteen.
