According to glavcom.ua: The Russian authorities announced a complete blocking of YouTube on their territory within the next year. Regarding this, Svintsov from the State Duma provided clarification, stating that the platform does not comply with Russian legislation and its use will be restricted. It was also noted that providers have already started to close access to YouTube in some cities.
In the context of the overall tightening of control on the Internet in Russia, this decision becomes part of a broader campaign to curb the free exchange of information and control over the country's digital space.
