Return of Tomasz Kędziora to Dynamo Kyiv

According to Главком: Polish defender Tomasz Kędziora is set to play for Dynamo Kyiv once again. The 32-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the club. Originally joining the Kyiv side in the summer of 2017, Kędziora made nearly 200 appearances across all competitions. Following the start of the full-scale war, he played on loan for Poland’s Lech Poznań and Greece’s PAOK, then signed a permanent two-year deal with the Thessaloniki-based club in the summer of 2024. During his time in Greece, he fully transitioned from right-back to center-back, establishing himself as one of the top defenders in the local league. In 2024, he won the Greek championship with PAOK.

European Competition Plans for Dynamo

Kędziora joins Dynamo as a free agent. The club has also decided on its venue for nominally home matches in the 2026/27 European season. Dynamo will host international games at Arena Lublin in Lublin, Poland. This stadium is already familiar to the Blue-and-Whites. In the 2024/25 season, they used it for Champions League qualifiers, facing:

  • Serbia’s Partizan
  • Scotland’s Rangers
  • Austria’s RB Salzburg

Arena Lublin also served as the team’s home ground during the 2025/26 European campaign, when Dynamo met:

  • Malta’s Hamrun Spartans
  • Cyprus’ Pafos in Champions League qualifying
  • Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv in Europa League qualifying

and hosted matches in the Conference League group stage. Kędziora’s return to Dynamo promises to be a significant moment for the club and its supporters.

Bringing Tomasz Kędziora back to Dynamo could greatly strengthen the team’s defense, given his experience and success in European leagues. His shift to center-back during his stint in Greece highlights his adaptability and professionalism-qualities that could benefit the Kyiv club in future international competitions. Moreover, selecting Arena Lublin as the home venue for European games underscores the club’s commitment to strong performances on the international stage and its readiness for new challenges.

As Dynamo Kyiv prepares for the upcoming European season, the choice of Lublin as their home base is a strategic move that aligns with their ambitions. This decision not only reflects the club's commitment to maintaining a competitive edge but also showcases their adaptability in challenging circumstances.
