Dynamo exited the European Cups before autumn
Kyiv's Dynamo finished its participation in the European Cups for the 2026/2027 season. In the third qualifying round of the Conference League, the team lost to Azerbaijani Karabakh with a score of 0:2 and did not advance to the next stage.
For the first time in 21 years, the Kyiv team left the European competitions before the final qualifying round. Now, the team will focus on the championship and the Cup of Ukraine.
How Dynamo lost to Karabakh in Baku on August 13, 2026
During the first 30 minutes, Karabakh completely controlled the game. The Azerbaijani team particularly attacked the left flank, where Abdellah Zubir regularly outplayed Dynamo defender Oleksiy Sych.
The first goal came from a cross by Zubir into the penalty area. The ball bounced to Muadib after Matheus Silva's reception, who sent it into the right top corner with a powerful shot.
After the 30th minute, Dynamo began to attack more frequently and leveled the game. However, the created chances did not result in a goal for the Ukrainian team.

According to TaToTake, in the third round match of the Ukrainian Premier League against Kolos, the team will be managed by Igor Kostiuk and his coaching staff.
The match is scheduled for Sunday, August 16. The meeting will start at 18:00 Kyiv time.
The management of Dynamo is expected to make a decision regarding the future of the head coach position next week. Before that, consultations with the current coach and possibly potential candidates are planned.
Igor Kostiuk previously worked with the youth and junior teams of the Kyiv club. His involvement in preparing the main team came after the unsuccessful end of the European campaign.
