Dmytro Kuleba spoke about his dismissal from the ministerial position and new proposals from Zelensky
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba revealed the details of his dismissal from the government and further proposals from the president in an interview with Dmytro Gordon. According to him, the decision was expected and came after a personal conversation with the head of state.
Dmytro Kuleba's Dismissal: How the Conversation with the President Took Place
Kuleba noted that his dismissal was a “historical inevitability” and that the process had been gradually developing. He confirmed that he personally met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, after which he wrote a letter of resignation himself.
According to the diplomat, the conversation was calm and without conflicts. He emphasized that he understood the logic behind the decision well.
Kuleba described the situation as follows:

At the same time, he refused to comment on the work of his successor, wishing him success.
Proposal for the Position of Ambassador to the USA: Why Kuleba Refused
After his dismissal, the president offered Kuleba the opportunity to become the Ambassador of Ukraine to Washington. However, the diplomat declined this idea.
Among the reasons for this decision, he mentioned:

the desire to spend more time with family

the unwillingness to leave his children again after five years of working in the government

doubts about the logic behind the personnel decision
Kuleba explained his position as follows: if he is considered effective, then the question arises as to why a decision to dismiss him was made.
He also assessed his work in the position, noting that he fulfilled it honorably under wartime conditions, although he acknowledged that there is always room for improvement.
Speaking about mistakes, the former minister emphasized that he regrets the most about personnel decisions, as they significantly influence the effectiveness of the entire system.
Dmytro Kuleba headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for more than four years. His tenure coincided with the period of full-scale war and active international diplomacy of Ukraine.
