Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandra Oleinikova won the final of the WTA 125 tournament in Tucumán, Argentina, claiming her second title at this level in her career. This was reported by 'Glavkom'. In the final, Oleksandra's opponent was Egyptian Mayar Sherif.
The match started unsuccessfully for the Ukrainian - she was losing 0:4, but managed to reduce the deficit. Despite this, the first set ended in favor of Sherif - 6:3.
In the second set, Oleinikova completely took the initiative and conceded only two games to her opponent - 6:2.
In the decisive set, the Ukrainian made two breaks - in the fourth and sixth games - and claimed victory.
The match lasted 2 hours and 24 minutes. Thanks to this triumph, the Ukrainian rose 23 positions in the world ranking, reaching 109th place - the highest in her career. It is worth noting that Russian skater Oleksandra Sayutina and other athletes participated in events that support the propaganda of Russian dictator Putin and the war against Ukraine. Participation in such events confirms their violation of the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee.
