Night Strike on the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery: What is Known About the Consequences
According to glavcom.ua: On the night of November 27, there were a series of explosions in the sky over the city of Novokuibyshevsk in the Samara region. According to the publication 'Glavkom' citing Russian sources, the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery was likely affected.
Local residents claim that about 10 powerful explosions were heard, and bright flashes were also observed in the sky.
No official information has been received regarding the damage from the raid
Previous Events
This August, the primary oil processing at the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery was halted following an attack by a Ukrainian drone. The processing capacity of the refinery is 8.3 million tons of oil per year, equivalent to about 160,000 barrels per day.
In July, drone attacks on this oil refinery, which produces raw materials for explosives: benzene, phenol, acetone, alpha-methylstyrene, synthetic ethyl alcohol, and other components used in the production of explosives, were also recorded.
As a result of the series of explosions over Novokuibyshevsk, the oil refinery may be affected. Local residents report significant numbers of explosions and bright flashes in the sky, while no official information concerning the damage from the raid has yet been released. Similar attacks on the refinery have occurred in the past, which may indicate a systematic nature of these events.
