Russian drones attacked western regional centers of Ukraine on March 24, 2026: consequences

On the night of March 24, Russian drones massively attacked the western regions of Ukraine. Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Vinnytsia were under fire. There are casualties and injuries among civilians, residential buildings and infrastructure have been damaged. This is reported by UNIAN.

The impact of the Russian drone attack on Lviv on March 24

In Lviv, residential buildings were damaged as a result of the strikes, including in the city center. According to the mayor Andriy Sadovyy, the number of injured has risen to 13, with one person in serious condition.

The head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported the following consequences:

• damage to residential buildings in several districts

• fires in the central part of the city

• impact on critical infrastructure facilities

• damage to a private house in the region.

Additionally, a national architectural monument was damaged – the ensemble of the Bernardine Monastery, which is part of the historical area of Lviv.

Strikes by Russian drones on Ivano-Frankivsk and other cities

In Ivano-Frankivsk, the consequences of the attack were even more tragic. According to updated data, two people died. Four more were injured, including a 6-year-old child.

Significant destruction has been recorded in the city:

• damage to the city and regional maternity hospitals

• about 10 residential buildings were damaged

Rescuers and other services are working at the site, providing medical assistance to the victims.

Explosions were heard in Ternopil and Vinnytsia during the attack. Air defense forces shot down enemy targets.

The attack affected several regional centers in the west of the country, indicating an expansion of Russia's strike geography.

Recall that on March 22, during the evacuation of passengers due to drone threats, a train conductor died after being fatally injured by an oncoming train.
