Second Day of the 2026 Paralympics: Ukraine's Position in the Medal Table

The Ukrainian national team continues to perform successfully at the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Italy. On the second competition day, Ukrainian athletes added four more medals to their collection and remain among the leaders in the overall standings. NV Sport reports on this.

As a result of the day, Ukraine occupies the second place in the medal standings, trailing only behind the Chinese team, which has eight gold medals. The Ukrainian team has already won a total of 10 medals, including three golds.

Paralympics 2026: Ukraine's Medals on the Second Day

On Sunday, March 8, ten sets of medals were contested at the Games. Ukrainian athletes won four medals in para-biathlon.

The awards for the Ukrainian team were claimed by:

• Maksym Murashkovskyi — silver medal (individual race for visually impaired athletes)

• Dmytro Suyako — bronze medal in the same discipline

• Oleksandra Kononova — bronze in individual race in standing class

• Taras Rad — bronze medal in individual race in sitting class

Thanks to these results, the Ukrainian team's medal collection has increased to ten awards.

Medal Standings of the 2026 Paralympics After the Second Day

After two competitive days, Ukraine is among the leaders in the medal ranking of the Paralympics.

Current results of the team:

• 3 gold medals

• 2 silver medals

• 5 bronze medals.

The Ukrainian team is represented at the Games by a record number of participants — 35 athletes. The delegation includes:

• 25 Paralympic athletes

• 10 guides.

«The blue and yellows» are competing in four disciplines:

• para-biathlon

• para-nordic skiing

• para-alpine skiing

• para-snowboarding.

As a reminder, on the first day of the 2026 Paralympics, the Ukrainian team topped the medal standings. At the previous Winter Games in Beijing 2022, Ukraine won a record 29 awards, including 11 golds.
