New Homes for Two Families in Bukovyna

According to Міністерство соц. політики: Two families displaced by the war from eastern Ukraine have been provided with housing in the western region of Bukovyna. The families, originally from the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, have received houses in the towns of Storozhynets and Velykyi Kuchuriv. This resettlement effort was funded through a combination of state and local budgets, as well as contributions from partner organizations. This initiative is part of a broader state program to support internally displaced persons (IDPs), particularly those with children, as they rebuild their lives in safer areas of Ukraine.

Family Details and Funding

A family from Kharkiv region, represented by Oleksii Odynokov and Larysa Kutuzian, received a house in Storozhynets. This family is raising eight children. The purchase of the Storozhynets house cost nearly 5 million hryvnias from the state budget, with an additional 500,000 hryvnias contributed by the Storozhynets community budget. The Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration allocated 1.2 million hryvnias for renovation work.

A second family from Sumy region, Serhii and Alla Konievi, were provided with housing in Velykyi Kuchuriv. They are also raising eight children. For the purchase of the house in Velykyi Kuchuriv, a state budget subsidy of nearly 6 million hryvnias was granted.

The official handover ceremony was attended by:

  • Head of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Osypenko
  • Head of the Coordination Center for the Development of Family Upbringing and Childcare, Iryna Tuliakova
  • Heads of local communities and representatives of relevant departments of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration

Partner organizations that contributed to setting up the home in Storozhynets include:

  • NGO 'Social Synergy'
  • UNICEF Ukraine
  • Charitable Foundation 'Artania Ukraine'
  • Charitable Organization 'Partnership for Every Child'

This development underscores the critical importance of supporting IDPs in Ukraine, especially in the context of the ongoing war. The collaboration between authorities and charitable organizations to provide housing for families who have lost their homes is vital for their adaptation and recovery in new surroundings. Providing homes for these large families further demonstrates social responsibility and community solidarity during a difficult period for the nation.
