According to Главком: Over the past month, the Kyiv region has witnessed two deadly crashes involving cyclists. The first incident occurred on June 28 on the Kyiv-Znamianka highway near the town of Obukhiv. The victim was a 41-year-old man riding a bicycle. He was traveling ahead in the same direction in the left lane when he began crossing to the right lane and was struck by a BMW driven by a 55-year-old motorist. The cyclist was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The second accident took place on June 9 at approximately 12:44 p.m. in the center of Uzyn. An elderly cyclist lost his life in this incident. He was riding an Ardis bicycle in the same direction and was making a left turn when a collision occurred with a Volkswagen Tiguan driven by a 60-year-old man.
