Online Border Queue System Facilitates 3 Million Crossings for Licensed Vehicles
Electronic Queue System
According to Кулеба: An electronic border crossing system for licensed trucks and buses has now recorded 3 million crossings. Launched in December 2022, the system operates at all road checkpoints for these vehicles, with the highest volume of traffic recorded on the Polish border. This digital initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize Ukraine's border infrastructure and streamline trade corridors.
Since its implementation, over 2.6 million trucks and more than 373,000 buses have crossed using the pre-booked queue system. The border with Poland saw the highest number of crossings at 1.6 million. Other significant crossings include over 527,000 with Romania, more than 351,000 with Moldova, nearly 267,000 with Hungary, and 162,000 with Slovakia.
System Operations
The eQueue system currently services:
- 29 checkpoints for freight transport
- 30 checkpoints for buses
This initiative has substantially simplified border crossing procedures and reduced physical queues at checkpoints.
The rising number of electronic queue crossings demonstrates the system's effectiveness in optimizing checkpoint operations and reducing delays for drivers. The implementation of such technology represents a significant step in modernizing infrastructure and improving logistics, which can positively impact trade and economic ties between nations.
