Iran's Regime Change Could Yield Major Strategic Gains for Ukraine, Expert Says

Fall of Iranian regime - strategic benefits
Зміна влади в Ірані може стати важливим етапом у зміцненні позицій України на міжнародній арені, вважає експерт.

Expert Analysis on a Potential Iranian Regime Collapse

According to ХВИЛЯ: In an interview with political analyst Yuriy Romanenko, expert Maziar Mian outlined the significant strategic advantages Ukraine could gain from the potential fall of Iran's current government. He highlighted a recent meeting between Iranian opposition leader Reza Pahlavi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, where they discussed recognizing Ukraine's territorial integrity. This diplomatic engagement is part of Ukraine's broader effort to isolate Russia and its allies on the world stage.

Mian argued that in the long term, Ukraine could gain an ally instead of an adversary, as

"drones would not fly, and missiles would not be transferred to Russia"

– the expert emphasized. He also stressed the importance of addressing this issue now, as it could substantially alter the strategic situation in the region.

Economic Factors and International Relations

The expert also pointed to economic factors, noting that while oil prices are currently high, they would fall. Mian identified the principal threat posed by the regime of the Islamic Republic, stating:

"When this threat is gone, there will be no need for such rapid stockpiling"

. He believes the entire world, including Ukraine, is paying a price for the Iranian regime's actions, but the outcome, in his view, is worth the effort.

Discussions about the possible collapse of Iran's regime and its consequences for Ukraine underscore the importance of diplomatic efforts in strengthening international relations. Engaging with the Iranian opposition could help forge new strategic alliances in the region, which in turn could positively impact Ukraine's security and diminish Iran's influence on the conflict. This also opens avenues for future economic cooperation should the situation in Iran change for the better.
