Housing and Utilities Expert Popenko: Reductions in Utility Tariffs in 2024 Are Unlikely
Oleg Popenko's Predictions on Tariff Policy in Ukraine for 2024
According to ХВИЛЯ: Housing and utilities expert Oleg Popenko expressed a pessimistic outlook on tariff policy in Ukraine for 2024. According to him, the absence of prerequisites for reducing or stabilizing utility tariffs is a reality that consumers will have to face. Popenko emphasized that, under current conditions, there is no political force ready to take actions for establishing objective tariffs for housing and utility services.
On February 18, Oleg Popenko appeared live on his YouTube channel Oleg Popenko PRO, where he discussed the situation with tariffs. He noted that, unfortunately, the current political situation does not contribute to changes in tariff policy.
“Unfortunately, today there is no active political force through which we could say that they are moving in the direction of establishing normal objective tariffs,” the expert noted.
Popenko also expressed concerns about further tariff increases.
“The story will only look like this: tariffs will be raised, everything will be dumped on us, and we will have to think about how to pay for it all,” he added.
In conclusion, the expert harshly characterized the situation, stating: “Sh*t means sh*t. I have been talking about it for the last three years, and that’s roughly how it turned out.” Thus, Oleg Popenko's predictions indicate a lack of positive changes in tariff policy for the coming year, and consumers should prepare for further challenges in this area.
Complex Situation with Utility Tariffs
The situation with utility tariffs in Ukraine remains complex, and predictions from experts like Oleg Popenko emphasize the lack of political will for change. In the context of economic challenges and political instability, consumers may face new difficulties related to the rise in tariffs. These factors could affect the welfare of the population, especially amid a global economic crisis and inflation.
