Electronic labor books: what will happen to experience after June 2026

Ukraine is completing the transition to electronic labor books after a five-year transitional period. According to the new law, people need to convert their paper documents into digital format by June 10, 2026, to avoid the risk of losing insurance experience and delays in pension processing.The digitization process involves scanning all pages of the labor book and documents that confirm experience. Information can be verified in a special personal account on the Pension Fund portal. New minimum requirements for insurance experience for retirement will also be introduced from 2026.The Ministry of Social Policy is working on a reform of special pensions aimed at limiting large payouts. This will help reduce the differences between special pensions and regular ones, providing equal social guarantees for all retirees.
