In the quarterfinals, seeded seventh, Ukraine's top-ranked player, ninth in the WTA ranking, defeated Croatian Antonia Ruzic, who is ranked 67th in the world, in two hours.

The match ended with a score of 3:6, 6:2, 6:3. After losing the first set, Svitolina took control and led the match to victory.

For the Ukrainian tennis player, this is already her thirteenth semifinal appearance at WTA 1000 tournaments in her career.
