Energy Crisis in Ukraine: Is a Mass Evacuation of Residents Threatening?

According to Студия Руслана Бизяева: The internal situation in Ukraine, particularly problems with energy supply, remains acute. In Troieschyna, Kyiv, a tent city has appeared for residents who have lost heat and light. The third president of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, posted a photo of it on his Facebook page with the comment:

'Dear Ukrainians, look at these lights in the dark. These are not just tents in the yards of Kyiv's Troieschyna, these are altars of our will... You cannot turn off the light in those who are the light themselves.' Viktor Yushchenko

Experts point out that to prepare for winter, it was necessary to stockpile equipment in advance and think through the possible evacuation of residents from certain areas. Among the measures currently proposed are the creation of special towns for evacuees in Western Ukraine or Transcarpathia, relocating repair crews from other regions to Kyiv, and attracting international assistance.

Geopolitical Aspects

Against this backdrop, geopolitical discussions regarding Ukraine's future continue. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that part of the peace plan could be Ukraine's accession to the EU in 2027; however, in his opinion, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia will oppose this. Polish President Andrzej Duda also considers such a timeline unlikely.

According to experts, the plan for Ukraine's membership in the EU exists and is being seriously discussed. The question of security guarantees stands apart. US President Donald Trump refuses to sign an agreement on them until the territorial issue is resolved. Two options are being discussed:

• Ukrainian (provides for automatic protection by American and European troops on the territory of Ukraine)
• American (provides for the placement of troops and resources at the borders of Ukraine)
