'Energy Aid for Sole Proprietors' Program Launches

According to Кабмін: A new program offering financial support to small businesses during power outages has been launched in Ukraine. In its first 24 hours, the initiative received 2,700 applications, with over 9,000 more currently being processed. Eligible sole proprietors (known as FOPs in Ukraine) can receive a one-time, non-repayable grant of up to 15,000 hryvnias. This aid is specifically for proprietors in groups 2 and 3 who operate in socially critical sectors. The program is a direct response to the severe strain on Ukraine's energy infrastructure due to ongoing conflict.

Program Objectives

The initiative aims to help small enterprises maintain operations during electricity blackouts. Funds from the grant can be used for several key purposes:

  • Purchasing or repairing generators and other energy equipment;
  • Buying fuel for generators;
  • Covering electricity costs for autonomous operation.

This one-time grant of up to 15,000 hryvnias is available to sole proprietors in groups 2 and 3 who work in vital social sectors, providing people with medicines, food, and other essential services.

Yuliia Svyrydenko, Prime Minister of Ukraine

Applications are submitted online through the government's Diia portal. The swift and significant response from entrepreneurs highlights the acute need for such support. The 'Energy Aid for Sole Proprietors' program represents a crucial step in sustaining Ukraine's small business sector, which provides indispensable services amidst the ongoing energy crisis.
