According to hvylya.net: The President of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association, Taras Bashtannik, stated that no decrease in apple prices should be expected in 2025. He noted that the global era of cheap products is ending, so there is no reason to anticipate a return to previous price levels.

Over the past year, prices for Ukrainian apples have reached record levels - almost 100 hryvnias per kilogram. In the new season, the cost of apples started from 60 to 70 hryvnias per kilogram, which is three times higher than the prices of the previous year.

'Clearly, the price of apples will drop from September. To the level of the year before last? No. I think the global era of cheap products is ending altogether,' explained Bashtannik.

Factors driving up apple prices

Global demand for concentrate Due to the rising cost of orange concentrate worldwide, the use of apple concentrate has increased, which has affected the price of apples for production.

Poor harvests worldwide In 2024, low apple yields were observed not only in Ukraine but also in Europe, Brazil, and Russia.

Lack of storage facilities Ukraine lacks modern fruit storage facilities, which has led to the import of apples due to shortages in the domestic market.

Global trends Apple prices have risen not only in Ukraine but also in other supplying countries, affecting global pricing policies.

In 2025, apple prices are expected to remain high due to various reasons, such as the growing demand for fruit concentrates and low yields worldwide. The lack of modern fruit storage facilities also affects the situation, as do overall global trends in rising prices for similar products.
