Contenders for the Special Envoy Position

Kaja Kallas, the EU’s top diplomat, is an obvious candidate. She recently suggested that the bloc would appoint a special envoy. However, three European diplomats have cautioned that her firm anti-Russia stance could lead to rejection by Putin.

“I think I can recognize the traps that Russia sets,” Kallas stated.
