Країни Північної Європи оголосили про значну фінансову допомогу для України, щоб підготуватися до зимових труднощів.

Financial Aid Commitments from Estonia, Finland, and Sweden to Ukraine

According to 5 канал: In response to the ongoing conflict with Russia, Estonia, Finland, and Sweden have announced substantial new aid packages to assist Ukraine. Estonia has increased its contribution by allocating an additional €10 million to the PURL program, which facilitates the delivery of U.S. weaponry to Ukraine, bringing its total support to €31 million. This year, Estonia’s military aid represents 0.3% of its GDP. Estonian Defense Minister Margus Tsahkna emphasized that these funds are essential for Ukraine to acquire critical air defense systems and ammunition.

Tsahkna also highlighted the severe impact of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which have left hundreds of thousands without electricity. He stressed that this financial support is vital for protecting civilians and maintaining crucial services during the harsh winter months.

Support from Finland and Sweden

Finland has contributed €2 million in humanitarian aid aimed at assisting internally displaced people, evacuees, and ensuring food security as the country prepares for winter. Meanwhile, Sweden has committed 522 million Swedish kronor to Ukraine’s support efforts ahead of the cold season. Sweden’s latest aid package includes:

  • 271 million SEK dedicated to energy assistance;
  • 60 million SEK through the UN Refugee Agency’s development fund;
  • 50 million SEK allocated for humanitarian relief;
  • 67 million SEK to enhance Ukraine’s civilian cybersecurity;
  • 74 million SEK channeled via the World Health Organization to bolster Ukraine’s health system.
Tsahkna remarked, “The stronger Ukraine’s defense capabilities, the less leverage Russia will have to impose its terms for peace. It is imperative that we continue supporting Ukraine and intensify pressure on Russia.” Margus Tsahkna, Estonian Minister of Defense

The situation in Ukraine remains deeply challenging, with international support from countries like Estonia, Finland, and Sweden playing a crucial role not only in military aid but also in humanitarian relief. As winter approaches amid ongoing Russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure, these financial commitments help strengthen Ukraine’s defense and stabilize conditions for civilians. This collective effort underscores the international community’s resolve to assist Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty and security.

In addition to the significant military aid, Sweden has also pledged substantial resources for rebuilding Ukraine's energy infrastructure and medical support. This comprehensive approach underscores the importance of not only immediate military assistance but also long-term recovery efforts as Ukraine braces for the challenges of winter.
