Evacuation from frontline regions: nearly 147 thousand people have already relocated

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: The evacuation of the population from the frontline regions of Ukraine to safer settlements is ongoing, involving the State Emergency Service, the National Police, communities, volunteers, and international partners. As of June 1, nearly 147 thousand people have been evacuated.

Among those evacuated are more than 16.5 thousand children and over 5 thousand individuals with limited mobility. Approximately 92.4 thousand people have been evacuated from the Donetsk region, which is the largest share among all regions. More than 35 thousand people have left the Dnipropetrovsk region, over 8.3 thousand from Kharkiv, and more than 4.4 thousand from Sumy, while over 3.7 thousand have been evacuated from Kherson and over 2.8 thousand from Zaporizhzhia.

Transit centers and beds

There are 21 transit centers functioning to accommodate evacuated citizens. The highest number of people are received at the centers in Pavlohrad, Volosske, and Lozova. The total number of beds for temporary accommodation exceeds 80.5 thousand. Currently, over 7.3 thousand beds remain vacant for settlement. As of December 1, over 15.2 thousand new beds have been deployed.

Oleksii Riabikin stated: 'Evacuation can save your life.'

These words emphasize the importance of the evacuation process for the safety of the population living in risk zones.

The ongoing evacuation from frontline regions in Ukraine indicates the seriousness of the situation arising from the conflict. In particular, the large share of evacuated children and individuals with limited mobility highlights the special needs of these groups for protection and support. The presence of transit centers and a significant number of available beds may also indicate the state's readiness to ensure safe resettlement for those in need.
