According to ХВИЛЯ: European leaders and EU institutions expressed support for U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the situation in Ukraine. They agreed to cooperate in order to ensure the security and sovereignty of Ukraine. The statement was signed by:

Negotiations involving Donald Trump's special representatives lasted nearly two hours, and overall consultations with European partners took about eight hours. During these negotiations, the U.S. proposal for significant security guarantees for Ukraine was discussed, which includes guarantees against an attack by the Russian Federation similar to Article 5 of the NATO Charter. Among the specific obligations discussed were:
- support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
- creation of multinational forces
- a mechanism for monitoring the ceasefire
- legal obligations for restoring peace
- investments in Ukraine's reconstruction
- support for joining the European Union
Statement of European leaders
The statement of European leaders emphasizes that
"ensuring the security, sovereignty, and prosperity of Ukraine is an integral part of broader Euro-Atlantic security"
. In addition, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted:
"We heard the territorial questions regarding Russia's demands from the USA. We perceive it as demands from the RF"
.
It was also noted that the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should remain at 800 thousand in peacetime, and the mechanism for monitoring and verifying the ceasefire will be under the supervision of the USA. Donald Trump expressed readiness to submit the security guarantees agreement for ratification in the U.S. Senate, which indicates the seriousness of U.S. intentions towards supporting Ukraine amid rising tensions with Russia.
This statement and support from European leaders indicate a growing unity on security and stability issues in the region, as well as the seriousness of U.S. intentions in supporting Ukraine.
