Ukraine Adapts Chemical Legislation to the EU: What Will Change for Businesses

At the II Ukrainian Conference on Household Chemicals and Cosmetics CosmoPobut, an interesting panel discussion titled 'REACH & CLP UA: Postpone... Process' took place, where the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the European REACH and CLP standards regarding the control of chemical substances and their classification, labeling, and packaging was discussed.

Representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, the Recovery and Reform Support Team, as well as business representatives participated in the event. During the discussion, consultations were held with producers and importers regarding the implementation of European standards, state registration of chemical substances, information exchange between enterprises and government bodies, as well as increasing transparency in the chemical product market.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Economy urges the use of official forms for the procedure of preliminary state registration of chemical substances and for sending notifications about the classification of hazards.

The participation of representatives from the Ukrainian government and business in the panel discussion during the conference demonstrates the importance of adapting Ukrainian legislation to European chemical safety standards.
