Stoke City Fans Show Their Support

According to Главком: Supporters of the English football club Stoke City have created and sung a chant in honor of Ukrainian defender Maksym Talovierov. This gesture highlights his growing popularity with the fanbase and his contribution to the team since joining last summer. Talovierov has made 17 appearances for Stoke across all competitions, and his contract with the club runs until the summer of 2028. Such chants are a traditional way for English fans to celebrate their favorite players.

International Duties with Ukraine

Talovierov is also a recognized figure on the international stage, representing the Ukrainian national team. Ukraine will begin its 2026/27 UEFA Nations League campaign with an away match against Hungary on September 25th. Drawn into League B, Group 2, Ukraine will face the following opponents:

  • Hungary
  • Georgia
  • Northern Ireland

The winner of Group B2 will earn promotion to the Nations League's top-tier Division A.

The fans' chant for Talovierov includes a particularly poignant verse:

“There were seven Russian bombers in the sky. And Maxi Talovierov shot one of them down.”

These lyrics acknowledge not just his athletic skill but also his symbolic importance to Ukraine. This show of solidarity from the stands underscores the significant role Talovierov plays, both for his club and as a figure of resilience for his homeland. The upcoming Nations League fixtures are seen as a vital platform for Ukrainian athletes to compete with pride on the global stage.
