According to ДСНС: Since 2022, paramedic Yuliia Bohdan has served with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) as part of a specialized emergency rescue unit from the Kirovohrad region. Her work has taken her on more than ten rotations to recently liberated territories, often embedded with demining teams to provide critical medical support. Her role is vital, as she not only delivers emergency care but also directly supports sappers in their perilous work of clearing explosives. This type of embedded medical support is crucial for units operating in heavily mined areas.

Explosion in the Kharkiv Region

On May 3, 2023, an enemy mine detonated in the Kharkiv region, injuring three sappers: Vitalii, Mykhailo, and Andrii. Tragically, Vitalii Dubina succumbed to his wounds, while Mykhailo and Andrii survived. Upon hearing the blast, Yuliia Bohdan rushed to the scene. She recalls:

'We heard a loud explosion and immediately ran to the site. As I ran, I was mentally running through the MARCH algorithm. When I arrived, I acted calmly and precisely, just as I was trained.' - Yuliia Bohdan

Yuliia's longest single rotation lasted 68 days, a testament to her dedication and readiness to face the challenges of war. Her story is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' 'We Are Others' information campaign, which highlights the heroism and professionalism of those working in de-occupied territories. Yuliia Bohdan continues her vital mission of saving lives under dangerous conditions.
