Femke Bol Immortalized in Wax

According to Главком: A wax figure of Dutch track and field star Femke Bol was unveiled at the Amsterdam branch of Madame Tussauds on March 31, 2026. The figure depicts Bol in her Netherlands team kit, with her left arm raised in a gesture of triumph. This honor comes as Bol, an Olympic champion and world record holder, is currently recovering from an injury sustained during her 800-meter debut in February. Her return to competition is anticipated for late May.

The creation of the figure coincides with a challenging period in the sprinter's career, serving as a significant morale boost for her and her fans. Bol holds the indoor 400-meter world record and won a gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games. Her coach is Laurent Meuwly. For international audiences, Bol is widely regarded as one of the most dominant forces in women's sprinting.

Femke Bol: 'The world needs more Femkes, and now there are two of us. It's an incredible honor, an absolutely crazy day.'

More than just a tribute to her athletic achievements, the wax figure symbolizes support for the athlete during this difficult time and highlights the resilience required at the elite level. It serves as a reminder of the determination needed to overcome career setbacks.

The display is also expected to generate increased interest in Dutch athletics, particularly in light of the upcoming competitions where Bol is scheduled to make her comeback.
