FIBA Announces 2026 Women's 3x3 Series Calendar

According to Главком: The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has released the full schedule for the 2026 Women's 3x3 Series season. The Ukrainian women's 3x3 national team, which finished 14th last season, will prepare for new challenges across the planned stages. In the previous season, Ukraine competed in four Women's Series events, reached the semifinals three times, and secured a third-place finish at the stage in Ulaanbaatar. The team improved its performance in 2024, ending the season in 13th place in the overall standings, marking the best final result in the team's history in the Women's 3x3 Series. The 3x3 format, a fast-paced, half-court game, has grown rapidly in global popularity since its Olympic debut.

The 2026 season will tip off on May 1-2 in Chengdu, China. A series of stages are scheduled throughout the season, including:

  • Manila (Philippines) May 7-8
  • Shanghai (China) May 16-17
  • Vienna (Austria) June 12-14
  • Multiple stages in France, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, and Japan

The season will conclude with the final in Shanghai on September 5-6. FIBA noted that the list of stages may be expanded in the coming weeks.

Ukraine's Men's Team Continues 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

In related news, the Ukrainian men's national team continues its campaign in the qualifiers for the FIBA World Cup 2027. In the second round of qualification, the Ukrainian squad defeated Denmark with a score of 88:71, securing a place among the top two teams in its group. Ukraine also won its first qualifying match against Georgia, 92:79. Oleksandr Kovliar was the top scorer in the match against Georgia, contributing 31 points in 37 minutes of play. The next qualification window is scheduled for February 2026.

The announcement of the new season's calendar is a significant step for the development of Ukraine's women's 3x3 basketball team, which has demonstrated a clear upward trajectory in its results in recent years.
