Ukraine’s NATO Accession Must Be Accelerated
According to Главком: Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has called for Ukraine’s swift integration into NATO, arguing that the country’s military ranks among the four most capable in Europe. Valtonen made these remarks during an interview with Zdfheute, as reported by Glavcom. She also named Finland, Poland, and Turkey as other nations with armed forces that warrant confidence.
Valtonen did not rule out the possibility that U.S. President Donald Trump might shift his stance on Ukraine’s NATO membership. Meanwhile, Finland has decided not to shoot down drones that violate its airspace. The Finnish Prime Minister has stated that the country is prepared to respond to potential threats.
Deepening Ukraine-Finland Dialogue
Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed a Drone Deal agreement with Finland, highlighting the active engagement between the two nations. Valtonen stressed the urgency of Ukraine’s NATO entry, stating:
