Французські автобуси в Київській області: коли очікувати перші поставки сучасного транспорту.

The Kyiv region will receive 260 modern buses from the Île-de-France region, with the first vehicles arriving later this year. This will be a significant step in restoring the region's transport infrastructure and a sign of strong support for Ukraine from French partners. The head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration Mykola Kalashnyk reports this here.

Buses for Kyiv region: equipment and features

The transport being provided by the French side has undergone complete maintenance and is ready to operate on routes immediately after delivery. The buses have everything necessary for safe and comfortable travel:

  • electric ramps for passengers with disabilities;

  • video surveillance cameras and emergency response buttons;

  • validators for implementing e-tickets;

  • GPS trackers for monitoring movement;

  • a set of spare parts for quick repairs.

Ukrainian engineers already have the necessary skills for the maintenance of these vehicles, ensuring the stable operation of transport on the region's routes.

Why support with buses is so important

The full-scale invasion has severely impacted the transport sector of Kyiv region. More than a hundred buses that provided daily transport were destroyed or seriously damaged due to Russian attacks. The school network also suffered significant losses: during the occupation, the Russians stole or took away at least 10 school buses, and another 34 were destroyed. Moreover, 70 units of equipment were transferred for military needs.

New buses will enable faster restoration of mobility at the community level, return to a normal rhythm of life, and strengthen the resilience of the region.

Earlier, we reported that Ukrainian cities will receive new buses with European funding. Public transport will be purchased with funds provided by the European Investment Bank. A total of 46.1 million euros has been allocated for the development of four urban projects.
