Geely’s Next-Generation Electric Drive

Geely has unveiled its new 16-in-1 Intelligent E-Drive, which will first appear in the Geely TT electric sedan. During a test drive around Qinghai Lake, the vehicle achieved an energy consumption of just 8.2 kWh per 100 kilometers, earning it a Guinness World Record as the highest-volume production EV with the lowest energy use on that route.

Technical Specifications

The 16-in-1 Intelligent E-Drive system is built on an 800-volt electrical architecture and delivers a combined efficiency of 93.8% under the CLTC cycle. In its dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration, it can produce up to 570 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The cooling system features 54 channels that reduce peak motor temperature by 15 degrees Celsius. According to testing, the new drive unit has a rated lifespan of 5 million kilometers.

The system was developed in collaboration with partner InfiMotion. Geely Auto Group Vice President Li Chuanhai noted that

“electric drives are becoming increasingly important as the EV market matures, and this new development strengthens the company’s in-house capabilities in this area.”

The Geely TT also set a separate Guinness record by completing over 46 kilometers of continuous drifting alongside another vehicle on a wet surface.
