Updated Figures on Russian Military Losses

According to Главком: On the morning of May 31, 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released its latest casualty report for Russian forces. According to the update, the full-scale war in Ukraine has now entered its 1,558th day.

As of that date, Russia's total personnel losses in the conflict have reached approximately 1,364,060, with 1,560 soldiers killed in just the past 24 hours. Significant equipment losses were also recorded, including:

  • 42,987 artillery systems (+57)
  • 1,819 multiple launch rocket systems (+6)
  • 1,399 air defense units (+1)

Other losses include 436 aircraft and 353 helicopters-both figures unchanged from previous reports. Ground robotic systems have reached 1,519 units (+19), while the number of tactical-level drones destroyed has climbed to 320,327 (+1,894). Additionally, Russia has lost:

  • 4,693 cruise missiles
  • 33 ships and boats
  • 2 submarines
  • 101,237 vehicles and fuel tankers (+524)
  • 4,234 units of special equipment (+3)

Frontline Situation Analysis

The newly released data indicates that Russian forces continue to suffer heavy losses in both personnel and equipment. These figures are critical for assessing the strategic situation on the battlefield and for planning future military operations.

The high rate of equipment losses-particularly in armored vehicles and artillery-suggests a potential decline in Russia's ability to sustain active combat operations. Such trends could also affect troop morale and public sentiment, potentially influencing the long-term trajectory of the conflict in the region.
