Georgiy Bushchan Makes Move to Polissya

According to Главком: Goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan has officially signed a two-year contract with FC Polissya. This transfer was made possible after his agreement with Saudi club Al-Shabab was terminated, where he had been on loan last season. While with Polissya, Bushchan has already appeared in 4 matches across the Ukrainian Premier League and the Ukrainian Cup, keeping clean sheets in two of them. A product of Dynamo Kyiv’s youth system, he spent 16 years at the club, making 201 appearances and recording 80 shutouts. During his time with Dynamo, he won the Ukrainian Premier League title, lifted the Ukrainian Cup twice, and claimed the Ukrainian Super Cup three times. Bushchan has also progressed through all of Ukraine’s youth national teams, earning 18 caps for the senior side, and was part of the squad for both the UEFA Euro 2020 and UEFA Euro 2024 tournaments.

New Signings and Squad Changes

Additionally, Polissya has secured winger Leandro Andrade on a permanent transfer from Azerbaijan’s Qarabag. The 26-year-old, who also holds Portuguese citizenship, signed a contract running through the end of June 2029. At the same time, another winger, Oleksiy Hutsulyak, has left the club after failing to extend his deal. As of July 1, Hutsulyak became a free agent.

Polissya earned bronze medals in the 2025/26 UPL season, which qualified them for the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League qualifiers. Their two-legged tie against Denmark’s Copenhagen is scheduled for July 23 and 30. The team will kick off the new UPL season on August 1 with a match against Chornomorets.

Georgiy Bushchan’s transfer to Polissya highlights the club’s efforts to strengthen its roster ahead of the new season, building on a successful previous campaign. The addition of Leandro Andrade also reflects an active squad reinforcement strategy, which could boost the team’s performance in upcoming competitions.

While the departure of Hutsulyak may be offset by new arrivals, it will be crucial for the newcomers to quickly adapt to the team’s dynamics and the demands of the league.

As Polissya continues to reshape its squad, the departure of Oleksiy Hutsulyak marks a significant change for the team. His exit in search of a new opportunity highlights the dynamic nature of player transfers within the club.
